Great way to see Naxos. My wife and I stopped by the day before to book our tour. It is located right by the port in the old town. We wanted to see the parts of the island that were more traditional and local. We are both in good shape, but don’t bike much, so we wanted something fairly easy.
Yannis recommended a tour to the beaches (Plaka and Agia Anna) and some riding through local villages. We were each sized for mountain bikes and we on our way. We biked through the villages on a variety of terrains – street, dirt and mud and uphill, downhill and flat.
The first part of the ride was pretty easy although biking through the muddy bamboo fields was a little tricky. After about an hour we arrived at Agia Anna – a beautiful beach. Then we kept biking along the coast and finished at the Plaka Beach – another really beautiful beach (that we went back to the next day, but by bus). Then we headed back through some other villages with great views of mountains.
Overall, we biked 17 miles and were super tired at the end. We felt great though – we saw parts of Naxos we would not otherwise have seen. Yannis was a great guide and we biked at a good pace. Highly recommend a bike tour with Yannis – it is a great way to see Naxos.
